brother dating best friend?
6 months ago, I had a happy family. A nice older brother, John, and twin sister, Jess, and a best best friend, Eliza. Now I have a constantly fighting family, I cant wait for john to go to college next year, and me and Eliza no longer speak really. Eliza?s always been a bit odd. Never been to a party, gotten drunk, kissed a boy. Always wanted to. If someone asks her out, she will say yes. Even if they are the hunchback of notre dame My brother too. Never had a gf or a kiss, more into classical music than rock, went to one party in his life, hates the youth of today and acts about 65. told me last year that if he didn?t get a gf before college he would die. I guess you can see where im going. Jess has a bf, I don?t. I used to spend a lot of the time on weekends when she was on dates hanging out with eliza. A lot of the time john would tag along. I have alwayd told john that my friends are offlimits, and I told him after a couple weeks when he just woudnt leave me and eliza alone that I didn?t like him hanging around. I felt like a third wheel and it made me uncomfortable John asked eliza out. Neither of them told me for 2 weeks, when I found out by accident,. They were not planning to tell me, either. Eliza blew me off all the time for john, and would always go on about the fact that she was dating. Ok, you say, youre a bitch, If a guy and a girl like each other you should be happy for them, right? But they don?t. both of them are17, ad they have been dating for 5 months. They have never even made out. They only see each other every other week or so, and they never talk on the phone. My house is small and eliza goes on about her relationship a lot, so this is all completely true. They have kissed. 5 second kissing. They don?t seem to care about one another at all. But they really hurt my feelings when they started dating. I got angry with both of them because they knew they would, and they knew they did, and they weren?t even nice about it. My parents tried to control the fighting by saying anyone can date anyone but that was basically taking his side. Our house is a bit of a war zone these days. Worse, eliza started being a real bitch. The happy couples will be on one side, the bitter pathetic singles on the other? wtf ? She called me bitter and pathetic? True or not, and I think not, that?s not what you say to your ?best friend? weve stopped seeing one another and ive made some new friends. My brother is going away to college soon and I am getting over it. But it still really bugs me. I lost a best friend and a happy family because of my brother breaking a clear rule that I had set. I just want to know, are there any similar stories out there? How did you cope? Is there any way back? A little adviceis really needed over here, because things are a real messs. How do I stop feeling guilty? :/ I know it's not my fault or responsibility, but I feel so bad...help?
I left my ex, who had been my best friend as well, and I told him we couldn't be friends for a while since we were on and off dating/best friends, and I didn't want that cycle repeating itself, so I wanted time away. He never talked to anyone else about his problems but me, and i know he's what they call a "social smoker", he stopped because I got him to stop, and he used to cut, but he stopped that too because of me. I know he's upset, and his facebook and msn statuses say "Life sucks! Be happy :(" I thought this meant life sucks and that people should try to be happy anyways, but my friend believes differently and says she thinks its directed to me, telling me his life sucks and that he hopes I'm happy... also, other friends who see him, tell me he's really sad. I don't want him doing anything drastic while I'm gone... :/ I know it's not my fault if he does, or my responsability, because I had no choice but to leave him *I put up with a lot of crap of his... I couldn't deal with it anymore* But I feel guilty and horrible... :/ I'm worried... please help :(
